It covers the same ground since they were both royal appointees in Boston, but Oliver was a native with a long memory for local politics and gossip, and he had a delightfully acerbic sense of humor. <br /><br />Hulton, as you know, spent less than a decade in Massachusetts. He got dropped into a political fight he didn’t know anything about and would have been happy to ignore while living a comfortable life as a genteel colonial administrator.J. L. It's interesting to hear the views of the "other side." Hulton seemed like a thoroughly decent person and a good family man who was committed to doing the right thing as he saw it.
