Often I'll start an entry ...I crib from the best! <br /><br />Often I'll start an entry with a nifty passage from an old book I've read, thinking that all I have to do is set the context. And then when I start to poke around the web for links, it gets interesting. <br /><br />That's what happened in this case. One of the strikes against the Lydia Darragh legend, by some reckonings, is that she wouldn't have been allowed to leave the city to fetch flour because there was no flour shortage.
