“Loyalism” Conference in Maine, 4-7 June

The University of Main at Orono will host a conference on “Loyalism and the Revolutionary Atlantic World” on 4-7 June 2009. The keynote speakers are:
  • Robert Calhoon, Emeritus Professor of History, University of North Carolina, Greensboro
  • Philip Gould, Professor of English, Brown University
  • Maya Jasanoff, Associate Professor of History, Harvard University
I see papers on the Rev. Dr. Mather Byles and James Murray, prominent friends of the royal government in Boston, and recognize such speakers as Todd Braisted of the Institute for Advanced Loyalist Studies. Registration deadline is 15 May.
