The Museum of Hoaxes reports that on 22 Mar 1937 Life magazine ran this photograph of the statue of Gen. George Washington in Boston’s Public Garden.
Unlike the general, it appears that the magazine was looking forward—ten days to the first of April.
Pretty impressive, considering that the Life staff didn’t have PhotoShop. Which I think Dean Trippe used for his photographs of Barack Obama Looking at Awesome Things.
Wow--that's amazing! You'd think that sort of thing couldn't be done without the software and equipment we use today.
