Retirement Looms

Toy Soldiers Club in Québec tells me this cavalry officer and some other figures from its Revolutionary War offerings are being “retired.” I don’t think that means being put on half-pay pension, but I really don’t know this world.

In the world of Fontanini Nativity collectibles they retire a given figurine, re-design it and introduce it again in a couple of years. This way collectors buy up the one being retired and then have to buy it again when it comes out in it's new design making money for all the retailers.
