New Website Sharing a Lifelong Interest

A new online resource of information about the start of the Revolutionary War launched last month: J. Bohy Historical Consulting.

This is the website of Joel Bohy, expert on military artifacts and battlefield relics, local speaker and televised antiques expert, participant in both living history and archeological studies.

Because Joel Bohy grew up in Concord and still lives in Massachusetts, he has a particular interest in the opening months of the Revolutionary War. Which is, of course, the most interesting part.

I especially appreciate the Publications section of the site, with P.D.F. files of many articles (and links to a few behind publishers’ paywalls). These range from grunt-level recountings of the Battle of Lexington and Concord for general readers to technical analyses of bullet strikes and metal detecting on battlefields.

I particularly recommend “Warlike Preparations of Every Sort: Stores in Concord, Massachusetts, on the Eve of the Revolution,” published in Man at Arms for the Gun and Sword Collector in October 2025.

There’s also a Media Appearances section of recorded lectures, podcast episodes, and news stories. With, no doubt, more to come.
